Clinical Rotation Onboarding Requirements

Please complete the following onboarding prerequisites prior to your clinical rotation with Legacy Health.

Legacy Health Requirements

Required Reading & Documentation

1. Students / Faculty: Read Welcome to Legacy Health

2. Students / Faculty: Read Legacy's Married State Preceptorship Model

3. Students / Faculty: Complete and sign the Legacy Nondisclosure Agreement

   • The witness signature must be completed by a clinical instructor or school designee.
   • Upload the signed/witnessed nondisclosure agreement to the "LHS Nondisclosure Agreement" requirement in ACEMAPP.

4. Students / Faculty: Read Cosign/Supervised Practice - Request Cosign of Flowsheet Documentation

5. Students / Faculty: Read Cosign/Supervised Practice - Request Cosign of Note Documentation

Glucose Meter Training (Cohort & Precepted Students)

Students completing glucose meter testing must follow Legacy Health's supervised practice requirements.

• Students do not receive an individual ID for glucose testing.
• Patient blood glucose tests and glucose meter quality checks must be completed with a Legacy-employed nurse in the "Married State."
• The Legacy nurse is responsible for training, observing, and testing using their Legacy employee ID number.
• Testing must be completed in the "Married State" under the direct supervision of the Legacy nurse.
• No exceptions are allowed.

For every patient test completed by a student, the following comments must be added:

• "RN notified"
• "student nurse testing"

Required Learning Modules

Students / Faculty:

1. Prior to clinical rotations, the nursing students should receive a Legacy-provided email giving the students the opportunity to claim their network account and to set their initial password. These network accounts will be used to login to our E+ e-learning system to complete required Epic training. All Epic training must be completed prior to the first day of their clinical rotation. Epic access is granted the following business day after completing their e-learning. Legacy employees will just login with their normal login credentials they will not receive an email to claim their account.

2. Log in to Legacy's E+ Learning Management System and complete the assigned self-learning modules.

Required modules include:

• EPIC Nursing Student
• Non-Employee Mandatory Education
• POC Nova StatStrip 1.75 Glucose Meter Initial Training and Competency
• MRI Safety Issues

Upload training completion certificates to the appropriate ACEMAPP requirement tab.

Omnicell Medication Station Registration

Students / Faculty:

• Login ID and password for Omnicell are the same credentials used for Epic access.
• Read Omnicell Fingerprint Enrollment.
• Read Cosign/Supervised Practice - Request Cosign of MAR Documentation.
• Read Legacy Medications Administration Policy.

Important:

• No Omnicell or medication access is granted to students or faculty assigned to Randall Children's Hospital.

Additional Required Policies

Students / Faculty:

• Read Legacy Care Transfer Communication Process Policy.

School Placement Coordinator Requirements

School Placement Coordinators must complete the following steps:

1. Complete the Legacy Access Spreadsheet.
2. Include all students and faculty members requiring access on the spreadsheet.
3. Submit the completed spreadsheet at least 30 days before the start of the clinical rotation.

• Spreadsheets cannot be submitted more than 30 days in advance of the rotation start date.

4. Complete a separate spreadsheet for each Legacy site.

• Name each spreadsheet using the school’s name and site name.
• A new spreadsheet must be submitted for every rotation.

5. Email the completed spreadsheet to Amie Hankel and Legacy Security.

• The required email addresses are listed on the spreadsheet.

Important: Access requests will not be processed if the spreadsheet is incomplete or submitted outside the 30-day submission window.

Site-Specific Requirements

Legacy Randall Children's Hospital

Students and faculty assigned to Legacy Randall Children's Hospital must read:

Unity Center for Behavioral Health

Students and faculty assigned to Unity Center for Behavioral Health must complete the following:

• Read Unity Cohort Guidelines
• Read Unity Site Information
• Read Unity Medication Administration Policy
• Complete the Unity Badge Access self-learning module in Legacy's E+ Learning Management System.
• Upload the Unity Badge Access training completion certificate to the appropriate ACEMAPP requirement tab.
