Northside Hospital utilizes ACEMAPP for the electronic application process for the Advanced Practitioner once the student/school has secured a preceptor/sponsoring physician for the below disciplines.
Northside Policy - rotations are to be peer-to-peer. Ie: NP to NP; PA to PA, rotations will not be approved for NP to PA preceptors or PA to NP. An MD/DO may precept any discipline.
The Medical staff office does not place students with preceptor/sponsoring physicians. The student/school is responsible for securing a sponsoring physician/preceptor you may search Northside Hospital website under provider search - https://www.northside.com/providers
The sponsoring physician's name must be entered in the custom field "sponsoring physician information" if not listed the rotation request will not be reviewed until provided. All Advanced Practice rotations require a sponsoring physician, and the physician must be an Active staff member. Northside policy is one student per rotation per sponsoring physician/preceptor. No rotation is granted approval for an academic year but by rotation dates.
Must be submitted and in compliance 30 days before site rotation starts for the Spring rotation starts 1/1 please consider submitting 60 days out due to the Holiday meetings may be canceled.
Rotations for Gwinnett/Duluth campus that are in the surgical or OB/Gyn rotation require Mandatory OR Scrub Rotation one week before site clinical start. Contact information will be provided in the approval email. This is a KEY POINT on meeting compliance in ACEMAPP 30 days before site clinical rotation start.
Before sending any students to Northside Hospital, all members requesting a rotation must be fully compliant at a minimum 30 days prior to site clinical start. The student/school will receive a direct email from Northside Hospital letting you know when the student has been cleared to be on-site which will provide ID/Parking instructions; practice contact number for schedule, meeting location, and dress code, when they may begin their clinical experience.
Schools must submit all student placement requests through ACEMAPP. Each rotation must be entered separately, per student. If your school is not yet a member of ACEMAPP, please contact ACEMAPP Customer Support to get started. The school must create a partnership with Northside Hospital based on campus designations: Atlanta, Cherokee, Duluth, Forsyth or Gwinnett. You are responsible for reviewing certain forms and documents submitted by students in ACEMAPP.
Please note, there is a difference between an "approved rotation" and the student being cleared to begin. A student must be fully compliant (all green checks) before they are cleared to begin. Once fully compliant (all green checks) the rotation request will be reviewed for approval by the Northside Education committee at minimum 30 days prior to the site clinical rotation start and notice of approval will be emailed directly to the student. Northside's requirement of compliance in ACEMAPP at a "minimum 30 days prior" is to approve 30 days before start, delay in compliance will delay approval or result in rotation denial.
Students are responsible for obtaining the signed "Exhibit A" sponsoring physician agreement which must be signed by a physician. A signature by only the preceptor will not be accepted.
Northside Hospital utilizes and will only accept background/drug screens from Advantage Students. Please follow the instructions on linking the student's Advantage Student account to Northside Hospital. please watch the video below or copy and paste the URL in your search bar: https://collaboration.acemapp.org/kb/120
