ID Badges

When obtaining badges, please enter through the emergency room entrance. Follow the signs to “C elevator” to the 5th floor and proceed down the center hall. MetroHealth Public Safety Office is located in Room H505 (Note this is a long walk)

****Clinical Instructors**, NOT STUDENTS!!! must contact the MetroHealth Office of ID Card Access via the email listed in the guidelines or at least one to two weeks before the start date of the clinical rotation to verify the class roster has been received.

DO NOT CALL ID Badging, they will NOT talk to students!! Call your clinical coordinator or instructor.

DO NOT COME THE FIRST DAY OF CLINICAL!! You will not be able to get into the building or onto the floor. You must have a badge to enter the Glick elevators. All clinicals not at the main campus must come to the main campus for ID.

If the roster is not compliant, they will not have students' names.

Clinical instructors are to instruct the students to come in INDIVIDUALLY during the following days/hours to obtain their ID badges:

  • Mondays: 1:15pm – 3:30pm
  • Tuesday – Thursday: 8am – 11:30am & and 1:15pm – 3:30pm; Closed for lunch
  • Fridays: 8am – 11:30am & and 1:15pm – 3:00pm

Proof of identity must be brought when obtaining an ID badge. Valid forms include a driver’s License, a state-issued ID card, a U.S. passport, or US Visa.

MetroHealth employees must obtain a clinical student or instructor ID badge for clinical rotations.

  • Student IDs will be good for one year for LPN students or your expected graduation date. ADN and BSN students will be good for 2 years or until their expected graduation date. Please make sure to edit the graduation date if you drop classes or fail to proceed. Your badge will expire on the first date provided, unless you notify Metro.

At the end of the clinical rotation, KEEP YOUR ID badges unless it is your last clinical/practicum. They MUST be returned to the Office of ID Card Access. The ID badges are kept until the last clinical rotation of the calendar year has been completed. If the badges are not returned within one week following the clinical rotation, a fee of $25 per badge will be assessed. $15 for the replacement of a lost badge. On the last day of clinical, students will be able to push the button to exit to the garage.
