University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) DNP- Student User Guide

This page will provide you with all of the steps that UAB requires. Each step will provide you with an ACEMAPP article that will walk you through each process. If you have questions about completing these steps in ACEMAPP, you may Contact ACEMAPP Support.

1. Locate your welcome email from ACEMAPP

Once your school has created your account, you will receive an email from ACEMAPP containing a link to set your password.
If you are a student from a previous UAB program, then you will receive an affiliation request, once you approve that request, you will have full access to the DNP items.

2. Log in to your ACEMAPP account

Navigate to acemapp.org and log in with your school email address and password. Be sure to complete all aspects of your profile, including email verification.

3. Complete requirements and learning materials

Complete all requirements and Learning Materials for your school. You must upload specific requirements into ACEMAPP even if you have already submitted them to your school.

4. Submit the 'DNP Project Porfolio’ rotation application

Once you are enrolled, complete your Porfolio application to provide your school with your Project details. This will provide your school with details on how you will complete your project.

5. Complete time logs

Submit your time logs using the encounter date (the date you completed the items) and your rotation ID number. You will be asked to enter in details about what you did each day, your course number, and if a team meeting was completed. If you did have a team meeting, provide your meeting notes in the Notes field. Your faculty will approve your time logs.

6. Continue to Complete your Requirements

As you progress through your project phases, your school will assign you additional requirements. Log into ACEMAPP frequently to make sure that you are staying on track with all of your assignments.

7. When prompted, you will complete the 'DNP Project Site Request' Rotation Application.

This application will provide your school will details on your Project Site. Once they approve the site, a rotation will be created. While completing your rotation application, you can select your clinical site and preceptor of preference. If they are not listed, there is a placeholder for you:

  • Clinical Site: ‘New Entity (enter Details Below)’

Rotation applications: acemapp.org/kb/410

8. Confirm rotation status

You will have two rotation numbers. A Requested rotation and a Precepted Rotation. You will submit your time logs based on your Requested rotation and your Project requirements will populate based on this rotation number. Your Precepted rotation will be specific to your project site. You will need to make sure this rotation is approved prior to beginning your project steps at this facility.

9. Complete evaluations

Throughout your scholarly project, you will be notified to complete evaluations.
