Fit Testing

1) Will there be a specific Wellstar Health System form needed for uploading proof of fit testing?

Wellstar does not have a specific form the students will need to upload. Students are required to complete the "Wellstar Fit Testing Attestation." The attestation is a form that can be filled out electronically within ACEMAPP located under the "Requirements" section. Uploading proof of the Fit Test is a separate section that is not required (however strongly encouraged). Students can upload the form they received from the vendor/site they completed their fit testing at to the "Wellstar Fit Testing Documentation” requirement.

2) Do you have any recommendations on where we can send the students to get tested if your facility will not test students any longer?

*If possible, we encourage students to use their academic institution's Student Health Center. If that is not an option, here is a list of external vendors around the Metro Atlanta area: • DOT Physicals Atlanta

• Concentra Urgent Care*

Please note you are not required to use any of these vendors, they are just suggestions. It is also important to verify that the vendor carries the mask Wellstar requires before booking an appointment.

3) If we have a student who has not yet completed the Fit Testing, would they still be able to complete it onsite at Wellstar if they schedule it before August 1st?

Yes, students can complete their scheduled Fit Testing appointment prior to August 1st. After August 1st, Wellstar will no longer offer Fit Testing appointments for students.

4) What do we do if we need more time to establish a process?

Our target implementation date is August 1st, although we understand some institutions may need additional time to transition. These changes were initiated by our Employee Health and Infection Prevention teams, whose sites and staff are managing an overwhelming volume of team members in addition to students. They have agreed to provide flexibility during the transition period by partnering with us before turning students away.

5) Is there a list of approved sites we can go to for the Fit Testing?

Wellstar does not have a list of approved sites/vendors for the Fit Test. Student/Faculty can get the Fit Test done either at their school, through a vendor, or other healthcare system. It is important to verify the site/vendor that you do use carries the mask models Wellstar requires.

6) Do you have a list of vendors we can order the mask from?

Wellstar currently orders masks from 3M and Grainger.

7) Can you share if there are processes and/or the requirements a person must complete to be determined eligible to complete fit testing for students? Is there a pathway you can provide us for training? Wellstar does not provide training for Fit Testing.

8) Does Wellstar require qualitative or quantitative fit testing?

Qualitative fit testing is acceptable for the N95 masks used at Wellstar.

Hand Hygiene

9) We will need to appoint an administrator or school faculty member as our validator to complete the Wellstar Hand Hygiene Training & Observation Form. How do we proceed to have a faculty member as our validator site-approved to complete this form for our students?

In order to become a validator, please review the validation training presentation. Once the presentation has been reviewed, you can begin to observe students’ hand hygiene. There is no additional step to viewing the presentation to become a validator.

10) How do we complete the Hand Hygiene document?

After receiving feedback regarding the current form, a new “Hand Hygiene Validation Form” has been created for ease of completion.

11) Is there a list of approved sites and/or list of validators the students can contact to complete the check-off?

Wellstar does not have a list of approved sites or validators for hand hygiene. We encourage each school to designate a site-appointed administrator or school faculty member to serve as a validator to conduct their students' checkoffs and communicate with the students how to contact the validators/the process.

12) Is the Hand Hygiene Validation Form an annual requirement?

No, the validation form only needs to be completed once and is not an annual requirement
