Assure Secondary Approvals, Declinations, & Waivers
Member Types:

Secondary approvals for Assure requirements are granted by school administrators, not the Assure Review Team. Because of this, these approvals only apply to the Assure package and do not fulfill any additional requirements—such as student, faculty, or clinical requirements.

Similarly, declinations or waivers granted in Assure do not carry over to meet other requirement types. They do not automatically clear student, faculty, or clinical requirements.

If a school administrator approves a secondary approval or waiver in Assure, they must manually update any corresponding student, faculty, or clinical site requirements to ensure the member’s compliance status is accurate.

Steps to Properly Manage Secondary Approvals and Declinations

Step 1. Access Assure Members

  • From the top menu, click “Member”.
  • Then select “Assure Member” under the Affiliation section.

Members tab and select Assure Member under Affiliation

Step 2: Locate the Member in the Assure Affiliated Table

  • Find the member and click the "Requirement" icon to review their secondary approval, declination, or waiver.

Step 3: Select the Assure Package

  • Choose the relevant Assure package for the member (student or faculty).

Step 4: Locate and Update the Requirement

  • Find the specific requirement that needs a secondary approval or waiver.
  • Click the "Edit" button.

Step 5: Apply Secondary Approval or Declination in Assure

  • Click the "Document" icon next to the requirement.

  • Review the uploaded file by clicking the document link.

  • Click the "Manage" button to approve or deny the document.

If appropriate, approve the uploaded document for the Secondary Approval or Declination.

NOTE: This action only affects the Assure package. It does not update the member's overall compliance for any corresponding school, faculty, or clinical requirement.

Step 6: Manually Update the Corresponding Requirement

  • If there are related requirements outside of Assure (e.g., student, faculty, or clinical site requirements), go to the Manage Requirements section in the member’s profile.

  • Once the member uploads to the corresponding requirement, you must manually approve or deny that requirement to ensure compliance is accurately reflected.
