Welcome Students:

Below are the steps you should complete in order to be approved for a placement in ACEMAPP for your school. If you have additional questions please visit the FAQ PAGE.

  1. Once you have a Preceptor and Facility, navigate to Applications in ACEMAPP and submit the appropriate Application

    • Request for Clinical Placement (UAB)
    • UAB - Request for Clinical Placement at PIEDMONT, GRADY, PHOEBE, OR FLOYD
  2. When submitting your Application, please be sure to include your Facility Name and your Preceptor Name. If they are not available to be selected, please select the following:

    • Preceptor: 'Preceptor Not Listed - Provide Details Below'
    • Clinical Site: 'New Entity (enter Details Below)'
  3. Once you submit your Application, wait for your school to review the Application. Please be patient as your school needs to confirm multiple details on your Application.

  4. Once there is a decision on your Application, this does not mean that you can begin your placement.

  5. Wait for your Rotation request to be approved. When you submit an Application and your school approves it, a Rotation request is created. This Rotation request needs to be approved before you can begin your placement. You will know when it's approved, because you will receive an email and you will see that the rotation is 'Approved' in your Affiliation box on your Student Home page.

  6. Once your Application has been approved and your Rotation is created, please begin to upload your Requirements. Your school will approve these documents. Your school may not approve the documents until closer to your Rotation start date

  7. Once you begin your Rotation, you are required to submit Case and Time Logs into ACEMAPP. You will need to connect your Case logs to your Time logs. To do this, you need to enter the same Encounter Date, Rotation/Course ID #, and Preceptor Name. Your Rotation/Course ID # should be the number associated with your Precepted rotation. This rotation will show you your Preceptor assigned. If this information DOES NOT match, your Logs will not be connected and your total time will not calculate properly.

  8. Continue to check your ACEMAPP accounts to make sure your Requirements stay up to date and you complete your Evaluations when the time comes. Most of your Evaluations will populate 3 weeks before your rotation end date.
