Placement Request Deadline Reminder: Students only have the first 7 days of each semester to submit your placement request for the following semester at a UAB clinic. Please mark your calendars accordingly.
- First week of Fall Semester → Requests accepted for the following Spring Semester
- First week of Spring Semester → Requests accepted for the following Summer Semester
- First week of Summer Semester → Requests accepted for the following Fall Semester
The clinical sites below have requested that all student placement requests be coordinated through the Office of Clinical Placement. Students should not contact these sites directly to request placement.
Students who already have an established relationship with a potential preceptor at one of these locations or who wish to suggest a specific preceptor may communicate that information to the Office of Clinical Placement during the request timeframes outlined above. The Office of Clinical Placement will verify the preceptor's willingness to precept and confirm that the placement meets all program requirements before coordinating the request with the clinical site. Having an established relationship with a preceptor or suggesting a specific preceptor does not guarantee placement with that individual.

- CVS MinuteClinic - All Locations - MinuteClinic has a limited number of preceptors available to FNP students only. FNP students must apply at https://jobs.cvshealth.com/us/en/students and receive approval from CVS before submitting a rotation application. Please do not submit a rotation application for CVS MinuteClinic without an approval email from the CVS Clinical University Relations Department. This clinic is part of our committed network. All accepted rotations are final and cannot be canceled.
- UAB Emergency Department - ED rotations are only open to FNP students in their 2nd and 3rd semester of clinical rotations.

- UCLA Health- Requests have to be submitted by SON through UCLA Placement Portal (California)
- UCSD Health- Requests have to be submitted by SON through San Diego Nursing Consortium (California)

AGENCY SPECIFIC APPLICATION DEADLINES & AGENCY SPECIFIC ONBOARDING SYSTEMS (myClininicalExchange, InPlace, Clinician Nexus, etc...)
The agencies listed below have application deadlines that are earlier than those at UAB, and many will not accept submissions after the deadline has passed. It is essential that students contact the Office of Clinical Placement at SON-ClinicalPlacementOffice@uab.edu to confirm the specific deadlines. Some clinical sites also use onboarding systems that must be set up in a specific order or through a specific process, so students must contact the Office of Clinical Placement before setting anything up to prevent delays in their rotation.
If your clinical site uses myClinicalExchange (mCE) and you do not currently have an account, please wait to set one up until you receive instructions from the UAB Office of Clinical Placement. Setting up your mCE account without prior instruction will result in delays of your clinical rotation. Agencies that use myClinicalExchange (mCE) are marked with an asterisk (*) next to their name below. Additionally, mCE agencies do not place students. You must have a preceptor prior to submitting your application.
