University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) - Student User Guide

This guide outlines all steps required by UAB. Each step includes an ACEMAPP help article for additional guidance. If you have questions about completing these steps in ACEMAPP, please contact ACEMAPP Support.


1. UAB Student Orientation Video

2. Verify Email Address

Once your school creates your account, you will receive an email to verify your email address. You must complete this step before logging in.

If needed, select "Resend Verification" on the ACEMAPP login page.

3. Log in to Your ACEMAPP Account

After verifying your email, you will receive a welcome email with instructions to set your password.

If you cannot find the email:

  • Go to ACEMAPP.org
  • Click Login
  • Enter your email
  • Select "Forgot Password"

After logging in, you must accept:

4. Complete Requirements

Complete all required items for your school and/or clinical site(s). Requirements must be uploaded into ACEMAPP even if already submitted elsewhere.

Additional resources:

  • Contact ESS at 1-866-859-0143 for background or drug screen access
  • Contact UAB Student Health or use the Student Health Portal for immunizations
  • The Professional Liability form is located in NUR 004 or available through your faculty advisor

Note: Requirements will show as Pending until closer to your rotation start date, when your school will review them.

5. Submit Rotation Application

Locate and complete the correct application based on your clinical site.

If your site or preceptor is not listed:

  • Select Preceptor Not Listed – Provide Details Below
  • Select New Entity (enter details below)

Once approved, you will be assigned to a rotation. Approval does not mean you are cleared to begin.

6. Complete Case Logs

Record clinical encounters daily.

  • Ensure a preceptor is selected
  • Use the correct rotation ID

If you cannot complete your logs, contact your school for assistance.

7. Complete Time Logs

Submit time logs using:

  • Preceptor
  • Encounter date
  • Rotation ID

These must match your case logs.

Important: Missing or incorrect data will result in inaccurate hour totals.

8. Complete Evaluations

You will complete evaluations near the end of your rotation:

  • Graduate Clinical Student Evaluation of Agency (UAB)
  • Graduate Clinical Student Evaluation of Preceptor (UAB)
    • Available 21 days before the rotation end date
