University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) - Preceptor User Guide

This guide outlines all steps required by UAB. Each step includes an ACEMAPP help article for additional guidance. If you have questions about completing these steps in ACEMAPP, please contact ACEMAPP Support.

1. Log in to Your ACEMAPP Account

Go to ACEMAPP.org and log in using your email address and password. After logging in, navigate to your Preceptor home page to access relevant information.


2. Complete Your Preceptor Profile

Complete all sections of your preceptor profile. This information is shared with your university administrators, so keep it up to date.

To indicate your availability as a preceptor, refer to step 3 in the guide below.


3. Manage Rotations

Your school will assign you to rotations in ACEMAPP. From your rotation table, you can view and manage your assigned students.


4. Approve Time Logs

UAB requires preceptors to review and approve student time logs, including associated skills.


5. Complete Evaluations

You may be required to complete evaluations for your students.

  • Midterm evaluations become available approximately 6 weeks after the rotation start date

  • Final evaluations become available approximately 3 weeks before the rotation end date

  • Complete student evaluations


6. Download Certificate

After each precepting experience, you can download your certificate of completion.
