Clinical Clearance Information
Students enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program at GTC must complete clinical hours as required by the State Board of Nursing (BON).
Participation: Participation in clinical experiences is contingent upon receiving satisfactory clearance from the assigned clinical facility. Students may only attend clinical rotations once all facility requirements have been met and approved.
The ADN Program does not establish clinical clearance policies. GTC follows the requirements established by its clinical partners, and all students are responsible for complying with those requirements. Approval or denial of clinical access is determined solely by the clinical facility. These decisions are not made by the ADN Program or by GTC. If a student receives an unsatisfactory background check, fails a drug screen, or does not meet a facility's requirements, the student may be denied access to the clinical site. Because successful completion of clinical hours is required by the Board of Nursing, denial of clinical access may prevent a student from successfully completing the course. Important Students must address any clearance concerns directly with the clinical facility. Please do not discuss or attempt to resolve background check results, drug screen results, or facility clearance decisions with ADN faculty or staff.
