TB TEST
ANNUALLY
• Due to the strict timeline placed upon you all as rotatons are assigned, we are moving to the TB Blood Tests and no longer acceptng TB Skin Tests.
Many of you have had to upload TB tests within 60 days or 90 days or the 2 step TB which will now be covered by one TB blood test.
• If you are a new admit for summer or fall 2024, you will need to upload a T-spot or QuantaFERON Gold TB test.
• If you have an autoimmune disorder or are on specific meds, please talk with your physician for they may suggest the T-spot test instead of the QuantiFERON Gold Blood Test
• If you are a current student, you will begin uploading the new blood tests as your current TB test assignment expires.
• You can go to your primary physician or to the Med Clinic and we have found that the majority of insurances will cover the cost of the TB blood test.
• If you have questons that I can assist you with, please let me know. Our Data Information Packet (under Requirements and Timelines tab) has been changed to reflect the new TB requirements.
Requirement
One of the following is required:
QuantiFERON Gold Blood Test
OR
T-Spot test - this is a blood test not a skin test
OR
if positive results, provide a clear chest x-ray.
• The renewal date will be set for 1 year (not to expire mid-semester). Upon renewal, one of the following is required: QuantiFERON Gold Blood Test OR T-Spot test OR if positive results
provide a clear chest x-ray.
• If your TB renewal falls during a semester, you will be asked to renew the test before the semester begins to ensure clinical placement.
